Upcoming gigs

Hi everybody, it's been a while since my latest update.  It has been a busy start to 2019 with a lot of great things in the works.

NAMM 2019

For me the year started off with a trip to the NAMM conference in Anaheim. As always, it's an amazing place to go and see the latest and greatest music gear.  I want to thank Theo Wanne for the pass and the opportunity to be among the first to get to play the new Gaia 3 tenor saxophone mouthpiece.  I didn't think it was possible to improve on the Gaia 2, but Theo has done exactly that. The Gaia 3 is another masterpiece and I'm having a blast playing it!!  I'm also hoping to announce another endorsement soon, I'll update this as soon as it happens.

Nvrlnd - March 26

On March 26 I'm going to have my first show with a new project I'm working on.  I have mostly been playing with quintets and quartets over the past few years, but I have been very inspired by some classic recordings to work on my saxophone trio playing.  For this first gig, I'll be playing some classic standards alongside of a few brand new compositions.  On this gig I'll be joined by Jason Valleau (bass) and Jon May (drums) and I'm very excited to see where this new project goes. Both musicians joining me are extremely creative and talented, so I'm sure it'll be a fun show.  Please see my calendar for details.

Baritone Madness CD Release

Please mark Saturday May 4 into your calendars! The long awaited Baritone Madness CD is nearly ready.  This labour of love features original compositions from myself, Pat Belliveau and Gareth Bane and a few select standards. It has been a lot of work getting the album done, at this point I think I have lost track of how many times I have listened to the whole disc to make sure everything is just right.  This past Saturday we had our pictures taken and I'm eager to see the design the Michael Dangelmaier comes up with for our cover.  He has a great concept and even managed to convince me to have my picture on the front with Pat and Gareth. I'm not a big fan of putting my picture anywhere, so this is a BIG deal. I liked his initial concept that much.  Please click on the calendar for additional details for the CD release concert.

Baritone Madness Plays the TD Ottawa Jazz festival

I could add a lot more to this, but I'm going to wrap up with the announcement that Baritone Madness will be touring a bit this summer to support the release of the album. The first festival to announce our show is the 2019 TD Ottawa Jazz Festival.  We are eager to play on the opening night of this years festival. I can't wait to see Ottawa for the first time and to share this music with the rest of Canada, starting in Ottawa.  For information on our performance in Ottawa please go to their festival website.

We will be announcing a few more festival shows as soon as we are able.
